HINKLEY Gladys Doris

Gladys was born was born on 22nd September 1897 at Murray Town in South Australia. She was the daughter and sixth child of Charles and Eliza Stutley.
Gladys was 8 yrs old when she came over to Western Australia with her parents; two brothers and five sisters to take up farming in Gnowangerup.
Gladys married Charles Arthur Hinkley on 19 April 1917 and moved into their house near a creek. It had a large fireplace made of mud and stone, some timber, tin and super bags for walls. Gladys had her first baby there - Edna, followed by Camille.
In 1921 Charles built a nice brick home “WANDIN” and along came eight more children - Len, Doris, Aeril, Ave, Walter, David, Lesley and Edsel.

Gladys died on 20th June 1936 at the age of 38 and is
buried at the Gnowangerup Cemetery.
